The Arkansas team for the second year in a row is going to a bowl game without their head coach. This year coach Bryan Harzen who led the team to a 7-5 and third consecutive Go Daddy Bowl Berth, the former Boise s State QB accepted the Head Coach job at his former school, Boise State.  Thus their defensive coordinator Thompson will coach the team in this Bowl Game.  The Red Wolves started the season with a 3-4 record then won 4 consecutive games and lost their final game to Western Kentucky 34-31 on a TD pass of 2 yards with only ten seconds in the game. BCS Sugar Bowl Odds: Alabama vrs. Oklahoma

But still this is a matchup of two of college football’s most recognized football universities, with two of the more prominent coaches at their respective schools.  The question in this game is how will the Oklahoma coach plan to counter Alabama coach’s defense?

Rose Bowl Wagering: Michigan State vs. Stanford

On Wednesday, January 1st 2014 we have the first of the five BCS Bowls and this game with the #4 Michigan State SPARTANS (12-1, 8-0 Big Ten) playing #5 Stanford CARDINALS (11-2, 7-2 Pac-12) with the game kicking off at 5:10 pm ET on ESPN TV and coming to us from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and another game weather should not be a factor.

For those who Bet on College football they have to know that this bowl game is the Granddaddy of all the bowl games, the Rose Bowl and this year's game may be the quickest game to end of all bowl games regarding the amount of time it takes to play the game.  Why, because of the matchup of teams.  Hard to believe but the statistics from SBG Global indicate that this is the Stanford’s team 14th appearance in the Rose Bowl and its second consecutive as last year they defeated Wisconsin 20-14.  In those appearances the Cardinals are 6-6-1 in the 1st 13 Rose Bowls they attended, and yes there are ties.  For the Spartans this is their 5th appearance and the first since back in 1988 when they beat Southern Cal 20-17. Outback Bowl Betting Odds: Iowa vs. LSU

Another great New Year’s Day Bowl game on Wednesday, January 1st 2014 with the game being played at the Raymond James Stadium (65,657) in Tampa, Florida with the Iowa HAWKEYES (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) playing the # 21 LSU TIGERS (9-3, 5-3 SEC) with kick off at 1 pm ET and on ESPN TV.

At the sports wagering site for those that Bet on College Football the opening line at Bet Royal has the Tigers of LSU favored at -7 -115 with the total at 49 and -290 money line.  The Tigers three losses where all road games as they lost to Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama and a feather in their cap is that they are the only team to beat the Auburn Tigers this year and that was with QB Mettenberger playing and he now is injured with a torn ACL in cannot play in this bowl game. A major concern for this game is can back-up QB Jennings while making his 1st start of the season will he get the job done?  For his sake he has talented receivers with Landry and Beckham and RB Hill who has 14 TD’s on the year with 184 yards offense and averages 6.8 yards each carry.   LSU ranks 21st averaging 27 points each game with an offense that is well balanced averaging 265.1 yards passing and 200.9 yards rushing per game.

Sun Bowl Betting: Virginia Tech vs. UCLA

This New Years Eve those that Bet on College football will have the pleasure December 31st 2013 to enjoy the Hyundai Sun Bowl which takes place at 2 pm ET with the Virginia Tech HOKIES (8-4, 5-3 ACC) playing the UCLA BRUINS (9-3, 6-3 Pac-12) and the game will be played at the Sun Bowl Stadium (50,526) in El Paso, Texas.

At the Online Sportsbooks this game may not be at the top of your list, however in past years the Sun Bowl game has brought many fans a lot of entertainment.  In this game the Hokies of Virginia Tech will face the toughest challenge they have had all season since, as the Bruins whose offense is so-so, but the defense is very strong and may be the best that the Hokies have faced this 2013 season.  Tech has had problems developing deep threats but they have managed to success in the middle.  Thus the Hokies QB Thomas will have to pick on UCLA’s inexperienced young secondary.  The Hokies have three receivers (Knowles, Stanford and Byrn) who have developed excellent skill running pattern 10 to 15 yards down the field and in the middle, so expect to see a lot of mid-range routes run against the Bruins.  The Hokies have had 26 bowl appearances of which the first was in the Sun Bowl in 1947.

Fight Hunger Bowl Betting: Washington vs. BYU

This Friday, December 27 we have another exciting Bowl game coming to us from San Francisco, California.  It’s the Fight Hunger Bowl and it is also the first NCAA Bowl game with two females officiating with the game being played at the AT&T Park with kickoff at 9:30 pm ET on ESPN TV as the Washington HUSKIES (8-4, 5-4 Pac12) play the Brigham Young COUGARS (8-4) with the weather not being a factor in California.

At an online sportsbook there was a comment asking how can the Huskies win without their coach as he is no longer with them, but the team has lots of talent and their losses were to Stanford, UCLA, Oregon and Arizona State.  However, with college kids this could be a big factor in this game and should make it a very interesting game.

The center of this team is offensive RB Sankey who this season scored 18 TD’s and in nine of their 12 games he ran for more than 125 yards each of those nine games.  They also have plenty of talent on defense.  Their coach of this game will be MarquesTuiasosopo a Huskie who was the MVP of the 2001 Rose Bowl game.  He has no head coaching experience but has been an assistant for 5 years in the Pac 12 and is regarded as a great in game leader.  The new coach who will start the 2014 season is Chris Petersen who was 92-12 at Boise State win their conference five times a with two Fiesta Bowl wins.
