What is going on in the NFC South?
There weren’t too many fans picking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their bet on NFL futures within the NFC South. No, most fans would have chosen the Carolina Panthers, because that seemed like the most logical thing to do. The Panthers were expected to lead the South, while fans were anticipating that the Bucs would be ranking near the bottom of the division. But now 5 weeks into the season, the Bucs, the Panthers, and the Saints are all tied for last place in the NFC South. While it might not be surprising to see the Saints and the Bucs near the bottom of the South, seeing Carolina all the way down there is certainly jaw-dropping.

Coming into the 2016 season the New York Giants seemed like the safest bet on NFL futures within the NFC East. Despite the fact that the Giants finished the 2015 season with a 6-10 record, they seemed like the team most likely to win a division that has changed hands for the last 11 years. But now 4 weeks into the season the Giants don’t find themselves as the frontrunners in the East, instead that honor belongs to the Philadelphia Eagles. In Week 4 the Eagles will have a bye week, so the Giants are faced with a pristine opportunity to try to take the division out from underneath the Eagles.
