The NFL Superbowl line is ready for the big game here at SBG Global sportsbook, even though we´re still going to have wait until Sunday,...
Continue ReadingWith their defiant squashing of the Detroit Lions, the Seattle Seahawks have advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs for the fifth straight year. Going into that contest, most football betting sites had the Seahawks pegged as the favorites over the Lions. In the end, Seattle was able to prove exactly why their 12th man is so valuable, by beating the Lions 26-6. With that win Pete Carroll advances to 6-0 in home playoff contests, thrusting the former collegiate coach into a conversation with the best coaches in NFL history. There’s no doubt that the Seahawks are damn near invulnerable at home. Unfortunately for Seattle, their next playoff game will be on the road. What will most online sportsbooks have to say about the Seahawks chances at Atlanta?
As long as the Dallas Cowboys keep on winning, fans who bet on NFL don’t care if they put Gus the Mule on the team. However, Steven Ruiz over at USA Today says the Cowboys should pick Tony Romo – who returned to practice this week – over rookie Dak Prescott. Why? Because “Romo has never been able to play with a supporting cast this talented, has been a top-10 quarterback when healthy and would allow the Cowboys to open up the entire playbook.” And presumably rip it in half like a phonebook.
Heading into the 2016 season, most sportsbooks were giving the reigning NFC West Champions, the Arizona Cardinals, pretty good odds to win the division for the second year in a row. They might not have been the favorite (that honor belonged to the Seattle Seahawks) but the Cardinals still had the 2nd best odds to win the NFC West. Unfortunately for fans of the Cardinals, Arizona hasn’t quite been living up to its preseason expectations. The Cardinal’s woes began when they faced the New England Patriots in their 2016 debut.
In the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals are the two teams that have proven least worthy of your bet on NFL money lines; the Cardinals because of their inconsistency, and the 49ers because of their consistent lack of success. Interestingly enough, both of these ball clubs will be facing off to provide Week 5’s Thursday Night Football. San Francisco seemed promising enough when they opened the 2016 season by shutting out the Los Angeles Rams. But ever since that game San Fran hasn’t been able to get much going offensively, and has fallen to 1-3. In spite of their lackluster play, the 49ers have still been making headlines. Albeit, for all the wrong reasons. Colin Kaepernick has been at the center of the controversy regarding players’ protest of the national anthem.
Oh, be very afraid, AFC Conference. People who bet on NFL and who have stuck with the New England Patriots, on the other hand, should be very proud of their allegiance. The Pats shut out Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans 27-0 last night at Gillette Stadium. At this point we would add, “and they did it without Tom Brady.” Let’s redact that; they did it without Tom Brady’s backup Jimmy Garoppolo. They did it with the backup’s backup. Life sure does imitate art, because this is pretty much the plot of Any Given Sunday.
The New York Giants finished 3rd in the NFC East last season, but that isn’t stopping them from coming in as NFL betting favorites to take the division in 2016. The East is notorious for being up for grabs and last year the Washington Redskins were the ones to come away with it. Some fans might think the Redskins have a good chance of winning the division this season, but in the last 11 years no team has won the East consecutively. After seeing the way Washington performed against Pittsburgh, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to snap the streak. The Giants, on the other hand, started the season on a significantly higher note by beating a divisional rival.
Professional football is so close that fans are beginning to dream of a successful NFL betting season. But there’s no reason why those dreams shouldn’t become a reality. With a small amount of luck and a large amount of preparation making the right predictions can be stress-free. There are plenty of betting lines to choose from and one of particular interest is the prediction for the NFC West. The Cardinals came away with the division last year and a brief look at the division’s history will reveal that their likely to come away with it in 2016. The Seattle Seahawks won the division in 2013 and followed that season by winning the West again in 2014, but they were just following suit.
One of the best aspects of the NCAA is that it gives us so many different games that fans can tune in at any time of the day and check in on their college football betting action. One matchup that will be taking place late Saturday night is the contest between the BYU Cougars and the Arizona Wildcats. The game will be played at a neutral site but the Wildcats are likely to have the advantage. The University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale Arizona will be hosting the ballgame and fans looking to tune in can do so at 10:30 pm ET.
UFC betting fans are used to fighters drop outing of a bout for various reasons. While the majority of the time the cancellations are related to injuries sustained while training, other times players have to serve a suspension for banned substances. Jon Jones recently made headlines for receiving a suspension, though he is adamant that he hasn’t taken any substances. Recently UFC has made it their priority to increase the number of tests given in order to combat what they perceive as a drug problem. Brock Lesnar was also making headlines for his return to UFC, but it appears that his return will be short lived as he also failed several tests. Ironically Lesnar also tested positive for the same substance that got Jon Jones his suspension.
