Specifically, the Grand Slam consists of the four biggest events of the calendar year: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. Gambling activity in the Grand Slam tournaments dwarfs the rest of the scheduled events combined. Each Grand Slam tournament has its unique characteristics, traditions, and personality.
Indeed, there is nothing like tennis betting, and then there is Grand Slam tennis betting. While there may only be secondary betting action on regular tennis tournaments, Grand Slam tournaments draw massive action and casual sector betting. In like manner to Triple Crown horse racing, March Madness basketball, and World Cup soccer.
Gamblers and fans often hear the term “Grand Slam” when referring to past Tennis betting odds winners or current stats. Still, the term has different contexts.
The ultimate Grand Slam is winning all four tournaments in the same Sports betting calendar year. Only Don Budge (1938), Rod Laver (1962), and Rod Laver (1969) have pulled off that ultimate triumph. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic did the next best thing by winning the 2015-16 non-calendar year Grand Slam.
Then there is the career Grand Slam, which consists of winning at each venue at least once in a career. Namely, Fred Perry, Don Budge, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic have earned this distinction.
Conversely, on the women’s side, Maureen Connolly (1953), Margaret Court (1970), and Steffi Graff (1988) have the only calendar-year Grand Slam titles.
Martina Navratilova (1983-84), Steffi Graf (1993-94), and Serena Williams (2002-2003 & 2014-15) have non-calendar-year Grand Slam titles.
The women have a distinguished list of career Grand Slam Tennis lines winners. Maureen Connolly, Doris Hart, Shirley Fry Irvin, Margaret Court, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are on that list.
Australian Open
Qinwen Zheng: Aryna Sabalenka dominated the hard courts last year. All four of her titles came on hard courts, including the Australian Open and US Open. However, Zheng came on strong in 2024. Next year, Zheng will get her first win against Sabalenka in her sixth and most important attempt.
Novak Djokovic: The world’s most accomplished tennis player has made it abundantly clear that he only cares about Grand Slams and representing Serbia. Djokovic has gone all in on his preparation for the Australian Open, which we believe will be his 25th and final Grand Slam title.
French Open
Iga Swiatek: Undoubtedly, the best clay court player in the WTA is the best clay court player. Swiatek will pick up her fourth consecutive French Open title. In turn she can get revenge for losing in the semifinals of the 2024 Summer Olympics at Roland-Garros.
Carlos Alcaraz: Sadly, Alcaraz must wait another year to get the kangaroo tattoo he wants to get after winning the Australian Open. However, he will enjoy another big summer, starting with a title at the French Open.
Wimbledon
Jasmine Paolini: Despite not fitting the criteria to win the 2024 WTA Most Improved Player of the Year award, everyone agrees that Paolini made the most progress last year. Next year, she breaks through with her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
Carlos Alcaraz: Previously, it was easy to talk yourself out of picking many of the men’s top players to win Wimbledon. We keep landing on Alcaraz, repeating his run of French Open and Wimbledon championships while securing his third consecutive title.
US Open
Aryna Sabalenka: Do gamblers think 2025 will not entail any Grand Slam titles for the sport’s two best players? Of course not. Sabalenka repeats as the US Open champion before finishing the year off in dominating fashion.
Jannik Sinner: Hopefully, 2025 is the year Sinner can put the doping controversy behind him. It was last August when the news broke, and the Italian superstar has been dogged by the scandal ever since. Correlate that Sinner will get some closure next year, including his second straight US Open title.
