Australian Open Betting Seeds

April 23rd, 2021 Tennis Betting

Australian Open betting has the top seeds on the men’s and women’s side favored. The seeds for the Grand Slam tennis betting event follow the ATP and WTA rankings. Roger Federer is the top seed and the Australian Open favorite on the men’s side while Serena Williams is the top seed and the favorite on the women’s side for the Australian Open.

Australian Open has Federer as the top seed followed by Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro.  Williams is the top seed in Australian Open on the women’s side and is followed by Dinara Safina, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Caroline Wozniacki.

If seeding holds up in Australian Open which is rare, it would be Federer facing Nadal while Williams faced Safina. Just how do the seeds compare to the Australian Open betting odds?  On the men’s side the favorite is Federer in tennis betting at about 2-1.  He is followed by Nadal at 4-1.  Andy Murray and Juan Martin del Potro are 5.5 to 1 in tennis betting.  Novak Djokovic was seeded third yet he is the fifth choice in Australian Open betting at 6-1.  Rounding out the top 10 in terms of seeds are Andy Murray at #5, Nikolay Davydenko at #6, Andy Roddick at #7, Robin Soderling at #8, Fernando Verdasco at #9 and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at #10.  Davydenko is 10-1 in Australian Open while Roddick is about 12-1. Soderling is 15-1 in tennis betting.  Verdasco is not given much of a chance at 35-1 while Tsonga is 25-1.

The rest of the top ten seeds on the women’ side has Elena Dementieva at #5 and she is followed by Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Jelena Jankovic, Vera Zvonareva and Agnieszka Radwanska. The seeds don’t really matchup as well on the women’s side with the Australian Open betting odds.  Serena is the 2.5 to 1 favorite in Australian Open betting.  The second seeded Safina is given almost no chance at 21-1.  Kim Clijsters and Justin Henin who are not seeded because they are coming back to the tour are 3-1 and 4-1 respectively in Australian Open betting.  Maria Sharapova is 7.5 to 1 while Venus Williams is 8.5 to 1.  Wozniacki is 10-1, Dementieva 12.5 to 1, Azarenka 15-1 and Kuznetsova 16-1.  There is definitely a lot of value on the women’s side in the Australian Open.
