Tennis betting almost always has Roger Federer favored but some people believed he was slowing down and his days of winning tournaments were coming to an end. That may not be the case if you listen to Federer who wants to win a lot of tournaments in 2010. Those that bet on tennis might not want to bet against Federer this year.
Tennis betting had Federer winning two of the four Grand Slam Events in 2009. He was the tennis betting winner at Wimbledon and the French Open. He was the runner-up in the U.S. Open in tennis betting and in the Australian Open. Last year Federer did not play that many tennis betting tournaments other than the big ones but that may change this year. Federer won just two other tournaments in tennis betting other than the Grand Slam events. “I hardly played any smaller events, but if I’m healthy this year I can win many more tournaments and that could also help get me more confidence, more momentum,” Federer said.
If you are going to bet on tennis then you better consider what Federer had to say. From 2004 to 2006, Federer won 34 tournaments. He won only eight in 2007 in tennis betting and then four in 2008 and four more in 2009 in tennis betting. “It’s important to listen to your signals,” Federer said. “I think that’s one thing I did really well when I became No 1. I had all the things going for me and huge opportunities to go and chase money or tournaments around the world, but I said I’m not going to do it. I said I would look at the big picture n and it’s been paying off. I’m very happy with my decisions over the years.” Federer is planning to play more this year and stay #1. “I would like to stay the top player in the world because going from No 2 to No 1 was hard work and not an easy thing to do, especially with Rafa playing so well,” Federer said. “That was a major accomplishment and I would like to stay there as long as possible and try to finish 2010 as world No 1.”
Federer is the solid bet on tennis favorite to win the Australian Open at 2-1. The next closest tennis betting choice is Juan Martin Del Potro at 5.5 to 1. Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are each listed at 6-1 in tennis betting. No other player had bet on tennis odds of less than 18-1 in tennis betting.
