French Open odds makers job has been somewhat simplified this year relative to the previous three. In the recent past the tennis odds French Open experts had a tough time picking a number one seed between the overwhelming number one player in the world, Roger Federer, and the French Open odds savant, Rafael Nadal. This year is no doubt that Nadal has exceeded Federer not only in the French Open odds seeding, but likely as the top player in the world as well.

French Open odds fans have grown accustomed to seeing these two legends battling for the tennis odds French Open crown. They’ve met in the finals of the event three straight years with Nadal getting the better of Federer in the French Open odds finale. In fact, fans came to expect these two players to be battling in the final event and looked forward to it as the highlight of the tennis odds French Open. But this year it doesn’t seem all that likely based on the poor play of Federer in the early part of the year, although in the run up to the French Open odds his play has improved slightly.

So far in the clay season Federer has stepped his game up, just in time for the upcoming tennis odds French Open. He won his first event of the season defeating a tough opponent in Nikolay Davydenko in mid April helping to shore up his French Open odds position. And then in his first clay event of the season he could have easily defeated Nadal at Monte Carlo, something which would have sent his French Open odds stock rising. He eventually lost to Nadal in straight sets but had large leads in both, giving him reason to be optimistic as he heads into the tennis odds French Open.

The 2008 season has started poorly for Federer but if there is any player on tour that can overcome such a ‘slump’ and change his fortunes at the French Open odds, it’s the Swiss master. He is still arguably the best player in the world as he heads into the French Open odds and his ‘slump’ (19-5 start to the season) would be a career highlight for most players.
