April 20th, 2021 Tennis Betting

Tennis odds for The Grand Prix Hassan II will be on the board in early April as the ATP World Tour 250 series holds the event in Casablanca, Morocco.

The tournament is a clay court tournament and an interesting one to wager on in tennis betting odds. Tennis odds last year in this event were led by Australian Open runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils and Agustin Calleri. The other seeds last year in tennis odds were Marc Gicquel, Julien Benneteau, Chris Guccione, Florent Serra and Victor Hansescu.

Qualifier Gilles Simon defeated Benneteau 7-5, 6-2 in tennis odds making for an all-French championship match. Benneteau actually went up a break 3-2 in the opening set but was broken in the next game. Benneteau was broken again in the 12 game. In the second set, Simon broke to take a 2-0 lead and added another break in the final game to win in tennis odds. Simon was able to win half of his break points while losing his serve only once. “It wasn’t an easy match. We were both a bit tensed in the beginning,” said Simon. Last year two of the favorites were upset in tennis odds. Second seed Gael Monfils lost out in the second round while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga withdrew in the semifinals due to a knee injury.

Last year’s win in tennis odds was the third career ATP title for Simon. “I came here to get some matches under my belt. I added this tournament to my schedule pretty late which meant that I had to play two more matches in the qualifying. Even if I was a qualifier this week, I knew that in theory I was number two of the tournament. I came here to win the tournament. I knew that I had my chances and it was a great week for me.” Simon was actually ranked higher in tennis odds than Benneteau but unseeded since the main draw began on Sunday when qualifying was still going on. It was the second straight year a Frenchman won at Casablanca. In 2007 it was Paul-Henri Mathieu winning in tennis odds.

Tennis odds saw Simon win last year and Mathieu win in 2007. Daniele Bracciali was the tennis betting odds winner in 2006. Mariano Puerta won this event in tennis odds in 2005. Santiago Ventura was the tennis betting odds winner in 2004. Julien Boutter was the champ in 2003. In 2002 it was Younes El Aynaoui winning in tennis betting odds. Guillermo Canas won in 2001 while Fernando Vicente was the winner in this event in 2000.
