Look out for Justine Henin in Tennis Betting

April 16th, 2021 Tennis Betting

Tennis betting did not have Justine Henin on the sportsbook board last year since the former #1 player in the world was retired.  That is not the case anymore as Henin is back and a real tennis betting threat.  Those that bet on tennis will want to keep an eye on her this year beginning with the Australian Open.

Tennis has Henin as one of the contenders to win the Australian Open even though she took all of last year off.  She was warming up for the Australian Open by playing in the Brisbane International and one of the foes she beat in tennis betting results said that Henin looks better than ever. “Henin is playing better tennis than before she retired,” Petrova said.

Oddsmakers are giving Henin a lot of respect as she is already the third bet on tennis choice to win the Australian Open at 4.5 to 1.  That is just behind Kim Clijsters who is 4-1 in tennis and the favorite Serena Williams who is 2.5 to 1 in tennis.  Those are the only three players that are really given much of a chance to win in tennis betting in the Australian Open since everyone else is 10-1 or more.  Henin has had a lot of tennis betting success at the Australian Open. She beat Clijsters in the final to win in 2004 for those that bet on tennis and she was second in tennis betting in 2006.

Henin is not sure what will happen this year but she is ready to go. “I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next few weeks or months, but I know I have the passion on the court. I just have to go now and win matches.” Henin said, “I hope I can be at the Olympic Games in London (in 2012), but I cannot guarantee I will be in the game until 2012 – you never know. You are not in control all the time.”

Henin lost in the semifinals of the 2008 Australian Open but her tennis betting loss was due to an injury. She had knee surgery in 2008 and now looks better than ever for those that bet on tennis.  Henin is downplaying her early season tennis betting results. “I know I will need a few months to be at my best level. It doesn’t mean I can’t do my best and win matches.” Henin said, “I don’t feel I have anything to prove to anyone but myself.”
