Nadal is arguably the most dominant player on clay in sports betting history and has owned the French Open betting odds. But with injuries and poor play of late the French Open wagering appears to be wide open this year. Nadal is still the favorite to win the French Open odds but at 5/6 odds he’s no longer the dominant force that he once was in the clay surface tennis betting. He’s still the best player on that surface anywhere in tennis wagering but his invincibility was dashed last season when Fedrer went on to win the lone Grand Slam title that had been missing from his impressive sports betting career.
But the world #1 is no lock to win the French Open betting either. He’s played well in 2010 and picked grabbed the first Grand Slam title of the online betting season with a win at the Aussie Open, but clay has never been his forte and he’s been bounced early in the past two tennis betting tournaments he’s entered. Tennis odds makers list him as an 11/4 favorite.
Right behind Federer, Argentine Juan Martin del Porto is listed as a 6/1 favorite in the French Open betting. Del Potro has never fared well in big tennis betting events but this could be his chance and his game is perfectly suited for clay.
Other French Open betting favorites include world #2 Novak Djokovic (17/2) and Brit Andy Murray (14/1). However, as tennis wagering fans know Djokovic is wildly inconsistent and Murray hasn’t played well of late. A wild card in the French Open gambling this year could be American Andy Roddick. His game is not built for clay but he does lead the ATP in wins so far this online tennis betting season and he’s playing some of the best tennis of his career right now.
