Rapha Nadal is quickly becoming one of the greatest tennis players ever to pick up the racket and his impressive win at this year’s Wimbledon betting competition certainly won’t be the last Grand Slam betting title he picks up in his career.
At just 25 years old he’s already well on his way to becoming one of the most successful and decorated players in tennis betting history. And he’s just getting started. Through his first five years a pro he’s already won more Grand Slam titles than the likes of tennis betting greats like Andre Aggasi and his second Wimbledon betting title is yet another remarkable win considering that Nadal has long thought of as little more than a clay court specialist or ‘dirt rat’.
But Nadal’s game is much more than just clay surfaces nowadays and he’ll likely be the favored player in the Wimbledon odds for years to come. He became just the 11th player in tennis betting history to win the clay court French Open odds competition and the turf-based Wimbledon betting competition as well.
By easily defeating Czech Tomas Berdych in straight sets in the Wimbledon final 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 Nadal became the big winner at one of the most memorable Wimbledon events in years. But the big loser just might have been defending Wimbledon betting champ Roger Federer. The former world number one was knocked out in the quarter finals by Berdych and dropped to the #3 ranking in the world for the first time since 2003. People have overreacted in the past after Federer failed to win the Wimbledon betting tournament (2008) and claimed his career was over, but this time it might just be true. Federer is playing as poorly as he’s played in a decade and it will difficult for him to climb back up the tennis betting rankings.
With the Wimbledon odds victory Nadal retains his top spot in the tennis betting world rankings. If he can stay healthy he’ll likely be the number seed at the US Open tennis betting competition as well. In seasons past he’s tended to breakdown physically by the end of August but his season has been one of his healthiest in years.
