Tennis betting this week is focused on the ATP Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships. Last week the women were in Dubai and this week it is the men’s turn. World #1 Roger Federer was the favorite in tennis odds but he had to pull out because of a lung infection.
Tennis betting should still be excellent on this event with many of the top players in the world in the field. Even without Federer, other top players like Andy Murray and defending champion Novak Djokovic are in the field. Djokovic is the defending champ and he will be on of the favorites in tennis betting. “Every time I come back I just feel like I’m playing at home. A lot of people from my country live and work in Dubai and come to the tennis, and it really feels great if you have people behind you.” Djokovic said, “It’s a very fast court and suitable for my game too, so I am really looking forward to coming back again.”
Federer has won this event four times in tennis betting while Roddick won this tournament two years ago. Not to be left out in tennis odds are U.S. Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro and Barclays ATP World Tour winner Nikolay Davydenko.
This would have been the first tournament for Federer since he won the Australian Open in tennis betting. He lost last time in this event as Andy Murray beat him in 2008 in early action. Last year it was Djokovic beating David Ferrer in the final. Djokovic and Murray are the two favorites this time.
Murray will be looking to bounce back from his Australian Open defeat. He is a two-time former quarter-finalist at the tournament. Roddick won in 2008 in this tennis betting tournament. He beat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic that year before defeating Feliciano Lopez in the final.
Also on the tennis betting board this week is the ATP Abierto Mexicano Telcel that is headlined by World #12 Fernando Gonzalez. It is a 32-man field for this event. Nicolas Almagro is the two-time defending champ. Also this week in tennis betting is the Delray Beach International Tennis Championship where Mardy Fish tries to defend his title. He beat Evgeny Korolev last year in tennis odds.
The women have the Malaysian Open this week where World #7 Elena Dementieva is the main draw in tennis odds along with World #10 Li Na and World #20 Zheng Jie.
