Tennis Betting on the ATP Johannesburg at SBG Global

April 14th, 2021 Tennis Betting

Tennis betting in the 2009 season is now officially underway. With the ATP bet on tennis season getting underway almost immediately after the New Year rings in little time is wasted for the tennis enthusiasts. And one of the most interesting ATP tennis opportunities coming up on the calendar is the Johannesburg tournament which runs from February 2-8. Tennis fans know that although not know as one of the premier tennis events on Tour, it’s certainly not one that any bet on tennis fan should miss.

Falling just the week after tennis first Grand Slam of the season (the Aussie Open) is bit of hindrance in some respects, considering that some of the top players and perhaps even the winners of that event are likely to skip the event. But on the other hand it can be a great event to catch some of the lower profile players in tennis and get an idea of who the top challengers might be for the next bet on tennis event.

Following a major tennis betting event like the Aussie Open can be a tough act to follow, and the long distance needed to travel to get to Jo-berg can also be a hindrance, but in the past most of the world’s best always seem to attend this biggest tennis betting competition on the African continent and this year should be no different.  It should be noted, however, that this event, started in 1976 has been on tennis betting hiatus for 15 years!

Held at Montecasino in Johannesburg it will be interesting to see how this bet on tennis tournament is received by the players on tour this year.  J-berg is not known for its safety or its beauty and this could impact some of the world’s top players not to attend this tennis betting event. However, the purse of nearly half a million dollars should be enough to ensure a very strong tennis betting field when this event begins again for the first time in the new century on February 2nd.

It’s hard to know for sure which players will attend this event with two other ATP tennis betting events being held the same weekend. With equal purses being handed out in Croatia and Chile the same weekend it may come down to personal preference and court surface. The Croatian event will likely draw all the top creation starts (Djokovik and others) to the indoor hard court event while the Chilean event, held on clay will draw the top clay court players like Nadal. But anyone looking to play on an outdoor hard court will certainly be at the Johannesburg tennis betting event.
