Tennis Betting on the Movistar Open at SBG Global

April 8th, 2021 Tennis Betting

Tennis betting fans might think the Movistar Open is a bet on tennis event in Hollywood, CA. But, in fact, it is an ATP tennis event that will be held February 2nd through February 8th, in Viña del Mar, Chile. That weekend is less than ideal because it falls directly after the first tennis betting Grand Slam event of the season (the Aussie Open) and there’s several other ATP tennis betting events at the same time, but nonetheless, the Movistar Open is not to be missed.

A tennis betting Grand Slam is always tough to follow but year after year attendance at ATP tennis events by top players the week after these big tournaments is surprisingly strong.  This year the Movistar Open not only has to contend with the hang-over of the Aussie Open tennis betting event, but also has to top ATP tennis tournaments on that very same day to contend with.  But with so many top players on the ATP right now you can be sure that the bet on tennis competition will still be of a very high level.

The Movistar event, originally held in 1993, always manages to draw the top tennis players from South America.  And while the South American contingency is as strong right now as it once was there are still plenty of tip players that will in attendance at this bet on tennis event.  Argentinean Juan Martin Del Porto could very well bet on tennis odds favorite heading into the event.  Ranked ninth in the world he’ll be among the best tennis betting players at the tournament.

But he’ll face plenty of competition as countrymen David Nalbandian, ranked 11th in the world will also be high on the tennis betting odds lists.  Chilean native son Fernando Gonzalez will be playing in front of the tennis home crowd and looking to improve upon his #15 ATP world ranking as well.

However, tennis fans should keep in mind that this tennis event is played on clay surface and the dirt specialists will be out in full force.  As in the past, there could very well be a surprise player knock off the tennis favorites and claim the title.

As the premier betting event in Latin America the continent will be well represented, but it’s unlikely that many of the top European players, aside from clay court specialists, will be attendance.  With an ATP tennis event in Europe at the same time, many of the world’s best tennis betting players are likely to attend that event instead.
