Tennis Betting Profile: Nadal Has Chance to Be Best Ever.  All too often in sports today we hear about this or that upcoming star being the next big the thing, the greatest player ever; but when it comes to tennis betting and young star Raphael Nadal this isn’t hype, but reality.

Nadal has been among the top two players in the world in the tennis rankings and on the court for the past four years.  However, it wasn’t until recently that he overtook the former world #1 and arguably the greatest player ever Roger Federer.  Federer is now the #2 player in the world and Rapha is the #1 ranked players in the tennis odds competition by a wide margin (11,810 points to Federer’s 7,695).

But it’s not just the point’s lead that makes Rapha the best tennis player in the world it’s his all around game.  When he broke onto the pro circuit as a 19-20 year old he was strictly a clay court specialist, a “dirt rat”.  His strokes weren’t very refined but he was a good enough athlete and well conditioned enough to beat any opponent on Clay.  This was evident by his winning 4-straight French Open titles and rarely losing on the surface for years at a time.

Over the past few years though Rapha has become much more of an all-around player and after developing his serve last off season his now the best and most compete player in the tennis betting action.

2010 was a great year for Nadal and just the start of what should be a record breaking run for the young Spaniard.  At just 24 years old he has 5-6 years of prime tennis playing ahead of time, but has already accomplished more in this career than all but a handful of the all time greats.  He’s just the seventh player in tennis odds history to win the Career Grand Slam (all 4 Grand Slam titles over a career).  And he’s just the second to pull off the Gold Slam (the Career Slam plus a gold Medal from the Olympic Games).

He’s also coming off one of the best tennis betting seasons in years.  He won 3 of the 4 Grand Slam events (The French Open, Wimbledon, and The US Open) on three different surfaces.

If he keeps this up he’ll be the best the game has ever seen.
