The results were not a surprise in Wimbledon betting. Anyone even remotely familiar with tennis betting could have predicted the outcome of the men’s event at Wimbledon betting. It did not take any particularly keen insight, or special knowledge to predict that Roger Federer would hoist his fifth consecutive trophy at the All-England Tennis Championships as the Wimbledon odds stated. In the past five years, no one has even come close to laying a finger on the jug that has become the personal possession of Herr Federer.

Entering the Wimbledon betting tournament he was the overwhelming favorite to take the title, but with such ridiculous margins that betting on him was near even money. And in the run matches to the final he was hardly even tested, hardly even broke a sweat.

However, with most tennis betting fans expecting another breeze through match-up, even against the world’s number two and reigning French Open Champ, Rafa Nadal, they were greatly surprised when the match turned into an epic struggle. It was a tremendous effort full of top-notch tennis betting that will certainly be remembered as one of the great matches ever played at a Wimbledon betting final. In the end, Federer finally broke loose with some very clutch hitting and won the epic battle 7-6 (7), 4-6, 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2.

Wimbledon tennis brought excitement as it was truly a thing of mastery and it was only the first time in the past five years that the great champ Federer was pushed to a fifth set. He got off to a great start breaking Nadal early in the first set and looked set to cruise. However, later in the first set Nadal broke back and Federer finally won the set in the tiebreaker. Nadal won the second-breaking Federer in the process.

Federer won the next set in another tie-break.In the fourth set, Nadal dominated, breaking Federer repeatedly as the world number one looked flustered for the first time in years on center court. But in the fifth and deciding set, Federer was unstoppable serving his way out match point twice and sealing the deal with a 6-2 win. It was an amazing 2007 Wimbledon game.

On the women’s side, the betting odds that bookies established before the start of the tournament at 2007 Wimbledon looked nothing like the finished product. There were pre-tournament favorites, but Venus Williams was not one of them. Entering the All England Tennis Championships in London, she was seeded 23. There were 22 players that the tournament seeding committee felt as better, or that had a better shot of winning Wimbledon than she did. For bookies, the Wimbledon odds probably weren’t that long, but they weren’t great either. At the end of the day, all those numbers matter very little as Williams is the new 2007 Wimbledon champ for the fourth time in her career.

The 2007 Wimbledon betting finals on Saturday matched Williams with relative unknown and 18-seed, Maria Bartoli, a French woman who let the world know that she is a capable player by upsetting, among others, Justine Henin and Serena Williams. But the outcome of the Wimbledon betting match was like so many before them, Venus dominating with her serve and making quick work of the competition. As in previous matches, Williams’ serves were powerful and right into her opponents’ bodies, making them almost impossible to return. After a fairly even start, Venus was able to break in the first set and jump out to a 6-4 lead. She seemed to gain momentum from there and in the second set she easily dispatched of the Frenchwoman 6-1, who appeared rattled at the velocity of the serves.

But aside from the killer serving, Williams, who seems to be healthy for the first time in months, was unbelievable at covering the court. With her quick feet and her long arms and legs, there was hardly a ball that got past her on Saturday. With basically nowhere to hit the ball and no way of returning the 124 mph serves being knocked at her the young Bartoli conceded defeat. It was a well-won effort by Venus who has now reached six finals at Wimbledon and won four crowns in this Grand Slam event. Her fourth win here at Wimbledon ties her with Billie Jean King on the all-time win list here.Only Steffi Graff and Marina Navratalova have more wins at Wimbledon betting Tennis.
