Wimbledon Betting Week 2

Wimbledon Betting Week 2.  The first week of the Wimbledon action has been about as crazy as anyone could have guessed and then some. From the top to the bottom the players involved in the Wimbledon odds competition have dazzled with the energy and excitement they’ve brought to the tennis betting tournament and they’ve even made some history along the way.

The biggest story of the week in the Wimbledon action was the marathon match between American John Isner and Frenchman Nicolas Mahut.  This tennis betting showdown stretched over three days after twice being called due to darkness.  The final score of this five-set thriller was not only the longest match in Wimbledon odds history but it was also the longest match in tennis betting history.  Isner finally sealed the deal with an incredible 70-68 win.

At the top of the draw, big names struggled with five-setters of their own and the Wimbledon favorite Roger Federer had to come from behind to advance in the past week.  The same is true of world #1 Rapha Nadal who has been battling injuries all week long in the Wimbledon and recently pulled off his second five-set victory in a row.  As the top two seeds in the tennis betting tournament struggled, #4 seed and hometown hero Andy Murray has been cruising through the draw so far and should be one of the favorites to reach the Wimbledon betting final, just behind Federer and Nadal.

On the women’s side of the draw, the top seeds are also playing well.

The Williams sisters are tearing through the competition as they always seem to do at Wimbledon and there is a very good reason to believe that the two could meet up in the finals of this tennis betting Grand Slam event.  Serena is the #1 seed and Venus is the #2 seed.  The only players that seem likely to challenge the Williams in this year’s Wimbledon action are two former worlds #1s, Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin.

But there always seems to be an upset in the second week at Wimbledon and this year likely won’t be any different and one or more of the favorites will likely be on their way home.
