UFC Hall of Famer and all-around UFC betting legend BJ Penn will grace Fight Night 112‘s lower main card, which will also feature Tim Means and Dominick Reyes.
B.J. Penn vs. Dennis Siver
Weight class: Feather
Sportsbook odds for fans who bet on UFC:
BJ Penn 2½ (-130) +175
Dennis Siver 2½ (+110) -210
After losing and failing to recapture the lightweight title to and from Frankie Edgar in 2010, Penn returned to welter with a bang, beating Matt Hughes with the KO of the night at UFC 23. However, he failed in his quest to regain the welterweight championship and moved on to uncharted featherweight territory in 2014, a division in which he is 0-2. All told, Baby Jay is in the midst of a five-fight winless streak, most recently losing to Yair Rodríguez in January.
Siver is coming off two straight losses – though one was against Conor McGregor, so that’s par for the course. The other was a unanimous decision loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri at UFC Fight Night: Jędrzejczyk vs. Penne on June 20, 2015 in Berlin. The Penn-Siver bout was originally schedule on June 4, 2016 but was postponed due to the latter’s injury.
Tim Means vs. Alex Garcia UFC betting preview
Weight class: Welter
Odds for fans who bet on UFC:
Alex Garcia – 1½ (-125) +210
Tim Means – 1½ (+105) -250
The Dirty Bird came out on the losing end of his rematch with Alex Oliveira after tapping out to a rear naked choke at UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Gastelum in March. Their previous bout at UFC 207 was ruled a no-contest after Means landed two knees to Oliveira’s head while he was determined to be a grounded opponent. So we know that Means has trouble with guys named Alex.
The Dominican Nightmare has split his last four fights, including a knockout win – and performance of the night – over Mike Pyle at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016 in Las Vegas. Garcia told MMAjunkie Radio that he would have wanted better competition, pace Means. “I am a little disappointed in this way, not because of Tim Means, just because I want to be in the top 10, top 15.” To which Means replied the he is “the most dangerous unranked fighter in the UFC,” as he told Bloody Elbow. “We all know that dude is not going to stand with me,” he added, meaning Garcia. Do you think he Means business?
Joachim Christensen vs. Dominick Reyes UFC betting preview
Weight class: Light heavy
Odds for fans who bet on UFC:
Joachim Christensen – 1½ (-115) +310
Dominick Reyes – 1½ (-105) -370
Christensen is 1-2 since debuting in UFC, after having gone 13-3 mostly in the European circuit. Reyes is set to make his promotional debut as a replacement for Azamat Murzakanov, who was withdrawn from the card on June 8th for undisclosed reasons. The Devastator is 6-0 with four KO wins – including the last three straight – in King of the Cage, Gladiator Challenge, Hoosier Fight Club, and Legacy Fighting Alliance. In a word, the indies.
