The UFC Betting Line at SBG Global

March 3rd, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC betting line odds are set similar to what you see in other sports with a side and a total.  The side in UFC betting is simple enough to understand as you are picking one fighter over another.  The total is the over/under UFC betting line on the rounds. UFC betting line odds are based on money lines. This applies to both sides and totals. For example, let’s say you have a fighter favored at -200 with the underdog at +160.

That means you are laying 2-1 on the favorite in UFC betting and getting 1.6 to 1 on the underdog. The round proposition is similar and also based on money lines. Let’s say the rounds are set at 1.5 on the UFC betting line. You might see the over at -120 and the under at even money on the UFC betting line. You risk $120 to win $100 or the 12/10 equivalent or get even money on the underdog versus the UFC betting line.

Since sides are pretty easy to understand let’s take a closer look at totals on the UFC line. The first thing to remember and this is very important, is that some fights have different round lengths. The major title fights are usually set for five rounds while the other fights are set at three rounds. This is a major consideration to remember when you look at the UFC betting line and it is easy to forget. When you get ready to handicap the UFC betting line in terms of the total remember that the style of each fighter is important.

If you have two fighters that love to throw big punches and go for the kill early then you sure don’t want to be better the over versus the UFC line. If you have fighters with styles that are more tactical then you might have an over bet versus the UFC line. You also want to look at the record of each fighter and see how long his fights have gone. This is critical information when you are looking at totals in UFC betting.  Oftentimes when you are wagering on UFC betting totals you can get a good idea of how long the fight will go by looking at past bouts. This is a good way to get a handle on UFC totals.
