It’s not often that the welterweight division carries a UFC Main Event but that may just be what occurs when the UFC 120 odds action gets underway.
Welterweights Dan Hardy and Carlos Condit well beat each others’ brains in for five rounds or less on Saturday October 16th at the O2 Dome in London England and you can be sure that more than just a few fans will cheering for the English hero Hardy. What makes this matchup even more remarkable is that it has the potential to be the fight of the night and perhaps the fight that MMA fans most want to see and yet it’s not even the Main Event of the UFC 120 betting event.
For those MMA fans not familiar, Dan Hardy from Nottingham, England is one of best welterweight fighters in the world and might just be the best welterweight in the world not name Georges St Pierre. His career record of 23-7 is much more impressive than it sounds and he might just be the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC 120 odds competition.
Hardy is 23-7 in 31 career MMA matches but many of his losses came early on in his career in the very low level English MMA fighting scene, which is for all intents and purposes irrelevant. In his UFC career Hardy has been impressive going 5-1 with his only loss coming to the immortal St Pierre in March of this year in a Welterweight title match.
In the UFC 120 odds competition he’ll be fighting a very talented opponent in Condit. Condit, fighting out of Albuquerque New Mexico is a talented all around fighter that can pose problems for his opponents in any number of ways. With a 25-5 lifetime record he knows his way around the Octagon. But he hasn’t faced as difficult an opponent as he’s going to face in London before and this could be a career defining match. He’s 11-1 in his past 12 matchups and has won two straight fights coming into this matchup.
Still, Hardy is the #4 ranked welterweight in the world by Sherdog and should get the win.
