UFC 120 Odds Action: Maldando on the Verge of UFC Breakout

February 10th, 2021 UFC Betting

Brazil has given the world many wonderful things from the Samba, to the string Bikini to top fighters in the upcoming UFC 120 odds event.

This South American country may just be the world’s best pipeline of MMA fighters anywhere in the world and the upcoming UFC Main Event in London on October 16th will feature some good looking up-and –coming fighters.

One of the interesting prospects in the upcoming UFC 120 betting action is a Brazilian light heavyweight by the name of Fabio Maldando.  A well known commodity in the Brazilians fighting circles he’s a virtually unknown in the world of UFC and American MMA action.

This will be his first time fighting under the UFC banner and he’ll be featured in the UFC 120 odds preliminary card.  With a career record of 22-0 in the sport of boxing this is a guy that knows how to strike with his fists and should be able to do plenty of damage on his feet.  Often times the transition from boxing to MMA doesn’t go very smoothly and the mat action often sinks the careers of most promising boxing converts.

Not the case with Maldonado who has a career record of 17-3 in MMA fighting and he’ll be looking to push that mark to 18-3 at the UFC 120 betting event.

The odds are good that he’ll dispense of his opponent, Englishman James McSweeney, a light heavyweight who would never get a shot at a UFC Main Event if it wasn’t for the fact that the UFC 120 odds action takes place in London and the organizers were desperate to stuff as many Englishmen into the fight lineup as possible.
With a career MMA record of 4-5 not only is McSweeney not very experienced in MMA action, he’s not very good.  He’s a former professional kick boxer who doesn’t like the mat.  But keeping the fight on its feet plays into Maldanado’s strengths as well and he should have his way against the Englishman.

This could be start of a very promising career for the Brazilian and very likely the last time anyone ever sees McSweeney in a UFC fight.
