The Most International Main Event Ever

February 9th, 2021 UFC Betting

Language, culture, oceans and many other barriers act as obstacles in the race to create closure ties between the many countries around the globe but the UFC is helping to bridge these barriers and the UFC 122 Main Event in Oberhausen will be the most international MMA event ever.

MMA and fighting sports in general are universally understood and enjoyed by sports fans around the planet and people from dozens –if not hundreds- of countries will tune into the UFC 122 odds competition.

In the 11 matches on slate for the UFC 122 betting action there will be 11 different nationalities represented.  In any UFC Main Event there is also a great deal of diversity in terms of the fighters’ nationalities but the UFC 122 odds event will be taking it to another level.  There will be seven fighters from the US, the most by a wide margin but after that it’s truly a mix bag of fighters.  Yushin Okami will represent Japan in eth Main Event against American middleweight Nate Marquardt with the winner earning a shot at the middleweight title against the legendary Anderson Silva.

There will also be an Italian fighter (Alesssio Sakara) and a handful of German fighters.  In fact, its bit surprising that that there aren’t more German fighters on this fight card as the event is being held in Germany.  As we saw in the UFC 121 Main Event in London, the lineup was loaded with English fighters whereas the UFC 122 betting action contains just 3 German fighters.  There will also be 3 English fighters in the UFC 122 Main Event representing Europe.

Brazil will of course be represented as well as there will be two Brazilian fighters looking to make a name for themselves on the MMA scene –just as there is in almost every MMA event.  There is also a lone fighter from Belarus.  And a single fighter from New Zealand, Poland, Croatia and the Czech Republic

In fact, the UFC 122 Main Event will look more like a UN meeting than an MMA event but once the action gets underway and the fighting begins it won’t matter where anybody is from as the action in the Octagon will take center stage.
