UFC betting fans might not be familiar with Stephan Bonnar or Jon Jones but they certainly will be after the bet on UFC 94 event.
On January 31st, 2009 the UFC betting universe will be focused on Las Vegas, NV where among other matches, Bonnar and Jones will spar for a chance to move up the list challenger list in the light-heavyweight category. While neither fighter has broken into the upper tier just yet, the event could be just the career boost they’ve been looking for.
Both UFC betting fighters are American and both fight in the light heavyweight class, but that’s where the similarities seem to end. To begin with, the age disparity in this bet on UFC 94 event is one of the largest you’ll see in a UFC betting match. While Jones is a relative newcomer to the UFC betting at just 21 years old, Bonnar is a cagey veteran; a decade his senior. And whereas Bonnar has seven events under his belt, this will be just the second UFC betting event for the youngster.
In this battle of youth versus experience, it’s somewhat difficult to judge which will prevail in the bet on UFC 94 event. However, one thing is for certain, this could be Bonnar’s last shot at the UFC betting contender list. While 31 is hardly old, the fighters’ skills are in decline and he’s fallen down the list of UFC betting challenger list. He’s obviously well aware of this and this could provide some extra motivation for his bet on UFC 94 match.
On the other hand Jones has absolutely nothing to lose and will be feeling very little pressure. Jones earned a spot on the top card of the UFC betting with a unanimous win over Andre Gusmao. A gifted wrestler, Jones would likely prefer to see this match go to the mat. However, so little is known about the UFC’s youngest fighter that it’s difficult to know for sure just what his strategy for this UFC betting match might be. With only one UFC betting match under his belt, nerves could also play a role in this fight.
But ultimately youth should be served in this UFC betting match up. Bonnar is just 2-2 over his last four fights and Jones will be looking to make a name for himself in the UFC betting world.
