The UFC betting action is generally the cream of the crop when it comes to wagering on MMA action.
And so far in 2010 the UFC has put together some Main Events that have ranked right up there with the best of all time.
But at the same time, there have been some real snoozers this year on the Main Event schedule. These have mostly been isolated to events held in Europe in an attempt to market the MMA product to a larger global audience and have been sandwiched by top notch events here in the States. Nonetheless, these sub-par lineups featuring local European fighters have left something of a bitter taste in the mouth of many UFC odds fans.
Fortunately for these fans unhappy fans the UFC betting will end the 2010 calendar year on a high note.
The UFC 124 lineup is about as good as it gets when it comes to MMA action and if the Main Card and Preliminary Card action don’t get you excited than you better check your pulse.
Leading off the UFC betting lineup is the #2 pound per pound fighter in the world and Welterweight Champion of the Universe, Georges St Pierre. It’s been awhile since GSP has been in the Octagon but there’s no danger of this guy getting rusty and he’ll likely take opponent Josh Koscheck in a 3-round decision.
In another enticing matchup that would likely be the Main Event matchup on any other UFC odds card, former welterweight top contender Thiago Alves will take on rising star and KO master John Howard. This has the potential to be a Fight of the Night candidate.
Nor do you want to miss the lightweight battle between Jim Miller and Charles Oliveira. Miller, with an 18-2 record might just be the best fighter you’ve never heard of. He’s on the fast track to a title fight and if he can get past the 14-0 Oliveira you can expect him to be fighting for a belt in the year ahead.
And if you like to see the big cats in the ring you can’t do much better than up and coming American fighter Sean McCorkle who’s a perfect 10-0 in MMA action. He’ll fight veteran heavyweight Stefan Struve and try and make his case for a shot at the most coveted belt in the UFC action at UFC 124.
