Joanne Calderwood vs. Cynthia Calvillo UFC betting preview
Weight class: Straw
Odds for fans who bet on UFC: TBD
Calderwood (aka JoJo, aka The Whispering Assassin, aka Cyborginho, aka Badmofo JoJo, aka Dr. Kneevil) has dropped two of her last four fights, including a submission loss to Jéssica Andrade at UFC 203 on September 10, 2016 in Cleveland. Calderwood and Calvillo had a smirk-off at the UFC Summer Kickoff press conference in May. “I’ve never had that before,” Calderwood said. “I saw her smirking and I was like, ‘you’re in for a hell of a night.'”
Calvillo is undefeated in five career bouts including her first two UFC fights; against Amanda Cooper at UFC 209 on in March 4th and Pearl Gonzalez at UFC 210 on April – both of which came by way of a rear naked choke submission. Fun fact: Calvillo used to work at the Cheesecake Factory.
Stevie Ray vs. Paul Felder UFC betting preview
Weight class: Light
Odds for fans who bet on UFC: TBD
Following a loss to Alan Patrick at UFC Fight Night: Cyborg vs. Lansberg on 24 September 2016 in Brazil, Ray has rebounded with consecutive wins against Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night: Mousasi vs. Hall 2 on 19 November 2016 and Joe Lauzon at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Lobov in April. The hometown boy told The Independent he always knew he’d face Felder sooner or later. “Even when we were in Brazil when he was fighting Trinaldo and I was fighting Patrick, we probably knew back then that our paths would cross at some point,” he said.
Felder has won three of his last four fights – or lost three of his last six if you want to see the glass half empty. Either way, his most recent outing was a winning effort against Alessandro Ricci at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Browne on February 19th in Canada, which won performance of the night honours. Felder is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Lightweight title-holder and has gone 5-3 since joining UFC in 2014.
