UFC Betting Preview: McCorkle Puts Undefeated Record on the Line at UFC 124.   Thirty-seven is not typically the age that most fighters get their big break the UFC betting action but that’s exactly the age of heavyweight Sean McCorkle and with a bout against veteran Stefan Struve at UFC 124 this could be his one chance to make a name for himself.

McCorkle is a huge man, formerly of the superheavyweight division.  But he’s slimmed down to a trim 263 pounds and will be fighting in just his second bout in the UFC betting action after spending the early part of his career in the lesser Legends of Fighting series.  He actually never even got into the sport until five years ago when he was in his early 30’s.

But he’s been making up for lost time annihilating his competition up to this point in his career and will be the only fighter on the Main Card with an undefeated career record at the UFC 124 event in Montreal.

At 10-0 McCorkle has yet to meet his match in the Octagon, but then again he’s never faced a fighter like Struve either.  In his only other UFC sanctioned event at UFC 119 McCorkle made quick work of New Zealander Mark Hunt, ending the bout with a TKO just a minute into the UFC odds competition.

Struve will be a much different competitor and much better than any that McCorkle has seen up to this point.  Struve is just 22 years old but already has a 20-4 MMA career record and at nearly have the age of McCorkle he’s got twice the MMA fighting experience.

He’s also faced much better competition than McCorkle and the experience should come in handy.  After losing his UFC betting debut to up and coming heavyweight fighter, Junior do Santos, Struve hasn’t lost since.  Struve hasn’t seen any quality opponent for awhile though and if McCorkle is as good as advertised this should be a great matchup.

Both of these men have an extensive kick boxing background and that should come into play in the match.  They’re both technically sound when it comes to submission moves as well and this should be a well thought-out fight between two patient fighters.  That’s a bit unusual in the heavyweight class and this should be a very interesting matchup.
