If you are looking at the UFC betting line there are some terms you should be familiar with when you make your wagers.

UFC betting has become so popular with fans around the world. Let’s take a look at some of those UFC terms. UFC options include fighter vs. fighter, round propositions and how a fight will end. The last option is interesting because it involves predicting whether a fight will end by knockout, submission or decision.

If you are predicting a UFC bout will end in submission there are some terms you will hear. An ankle lock is a hold that causes enough pain to cause an opponent to submit. Other submission holds that you will notice in UFC betting are arm bars, knee bars and neck cranks. Another type of submission hold in UFC  the choke hold. This is a hold that cuts off blood flow or oxygen. Choke holds are classified as the rear naked choke, the triangle and the guillotine.

There are a few other terms in UFC that you may hear. Some things are not allowed in the UFC and are considered fouls. The eye gouge is one of those where a fighter digs the fingers in or around the opponent’s eye.
The fishhook is another type of foul where an opponent hooks his fingers into the opponent’s mouth, nose or ears. The foot stomp is another foul that is not allowed in the UFC.

You will notice in UFC that fights are held in the Octagon. This is an eight-sided enclosed fighting area. Another UFC term that is heard frequently is the takedown. In UFC , this is where a fighter takes his opponent to the ground.
