UFC odds fans know the brief but illustrious history of the fighting sport but what many fans may not know is that there is a UFC betting odds hall of fame.
And enshrined in that rare institution are some of the greatest fighters in the history of sports betting. Because the sport is so young it’s a very small group but that makes this UFC honor that much more special.
UFC have hundreds of fighters featured in the main events, some making a lasting impression for UFC betting odds fans, other were never seen again in sports betting lines. One fighter that was there at the very beginning, when the UFC odds were being launched to a skeptical public is arguably the greatest UFC betting fighter of all time, is Royce Gracie. The Gracie name has gone on to coin its own fighting style and no fighter has had a greater single impact on the sport or the UFC odds than this man.
But he’s hardly the only UFC odds fighter to leave his mark. Of the eight men who have been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame there is not one of them that has not been a giant in his sport and dominated the UFC betting odds during his career. For obvious reasons this group of UFC odds heroes are all from an earlier generation, from the very beginning of the UFC themselves. But they are legends and it’s a terrific thing that the sport has created the UFC Hall of Fame to commemorate their impact on the sport. Fighters like Dan Severn, Derek Fairburn and Mark Coleman might otherwise be forgotten by younger UFC odds fans that never had the opportunity to see them fight or wager on them in the UFC betting .
The beauty of the UFC Hall of Fame is that it will continue to grow and expand along with the sport itself. As the UFC continues to penetrate into the global sporting world there is little doubt that the stars of today’s UFC will be even bigger stars than their Hall of Fame predecessors. Georges St. Pierre and Anderson Silva are but two of the handful of UFC odds fighters that will most likely find themselves enshrined in the hallow grounds of the UFC Hall of Fame one day.
And when they do join the others in this select institution it will represent a perfect commemoration and continuation of sport that is quickly assembling a rich heritage.
