UFC Betting – Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones

January 13th, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC betting on Saturday has Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones in the feature bout of the Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale from Las Vegas.  Those that bet on UFC will notice that Jones is better than a 2-1 favorite. UFC had Hamill making his UFC debut on the Ultimate Fighter in 2006.  Hamill is 6-2 in UFC since his debut.  He is an underdog in UFC betting in this bout against Jones.  The only two UFC losses Hamill has suffered have not been bad ones as he lost a very tough decision to Michael Bisping back in 2007 and he lost by TKO to Rich Franklin in 2008. His win over Mark Munoz in UFC 96 was impressive to those that bet on UFC. It was a knockout with a single kick that impressed UFC gamblers.

Jones has the UFC betting edge in age since he is younger and he probably has the talent edge over Hamill. He does not have the experience edge though in UFC.  “This is Jon’s biggest test and he’s probably working harder than ever to keep his unbeaten record,” said Hamill. “I will show him a real fight, and it will be a good fight, I can promise that.”  Jones has been impressive so far in UFC and he has quickly gained a reputation as a future star among those that bet on UFC.  He has defeated Andre Gusmao, Stephan Bonnar, and Jake O’Brien in UFC betting.  “People say I’m the future of the sport and the next champion, and I never asked for any of that stuff,” Jones said, “But people are saying it for a reason, I guess, and it motivates me to work harder and live up to those expectations.”

Jones is only 22 years old so it will be interesting to see how he handles the UFC betting attention. He has a great camp with some former champions so he should be well prepared in UFC betting.  He is upset that people are saying Hamill is the better wrestler.  “The biggest thing that’s on my mind when it comes to Matt Hamill is the whole wrestling mismatch,” said Jones. “And for people to say that Matt’s just gonna take me down, hold me down, ground and pound me and beat me that way, it’s just ridiculous.”

Also on the UFC betting card for those that bet on UFC are bouts between Frank Edgar and Matt Veach, Brian Stann and Rodney Wallace, John Howard and Dennis Hallman plus Joe Brammer vs. Mark Bocek.
