At the onset of the week, the WNBA’s two biggest rookie superstars, Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark, had their teams in playoff position. The top eight teams, regardless of conference, will make the WNBA betting postseason. Reese and the Chicago Sky hold the final #8 playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Indiana Fever ranked 7th in the standings. What remains interesting is that fans and gamblers are more focused on the bottom of the standings than the top. First in the standings is New York Liberty. Next are the Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, and Las Vegas Aces.

Second for Indiana is Kelsey Mitchell, with 17.7 points per contest. Aliyah Boston adds 14.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
The Chicago Sky beat the WNBA odds in three of their most recent five games. The Sky ranks 10th for scoring offense and 6th for points allowed. Reese and Clark have been said to be equals for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award. However, Clark is starting to separate from Reese, a valuable rebounder but not the impact player that Clark is becoming. Also, Clark has been far more dominant at the box office and regarding TV ratings. Still, Reese has made an important contribution to Chiago’s playoff efforts.
First overall in the standings is the New York Liberty at 25-5 straight up, 15-15 against the spread, and 14-16 under the total. New York got the cash in seven of its most recent nine games. Also, five of the Liberty’s last seven games went under the total. Sabrina Ionescu leads New York with 19.9 points per game. Second among New York scorers is Breanna Stewart with 19.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. New York ranks an impressive 2nd for scoring offense and 3rd for points allowed.
