WNBA Draft Impact on 2015 Betting Lines

January 13th, 2020 WNBA Betting Odds

The WNBA Draft is always a time for teams to restore themselves through some of the best womens’ basketball players from all parts of the country. The WNBA betting lines might especially change thanks to what happens here.

The Seattle Storm are stuck at 20/1 gambling odds to win the title, what with the team having the worst record in the league last year. However, the Storm have the first pick in this year’s draft. This could be a big deal when all the departures on the team are considered.

Fortunately, the Storm have plenty of options to choose from. California’s Reshanda Gray is expected to be a favorite for the top pick with Connecticut’s Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and California’s Brittany Boyd being good options for the pick as well.

The 15/1 Connecticut Sun will have the third and fourth overall picks. These two picks could be a big deal for the team this year. South Carolina’s Aleighsha Welch could end up attractive for all to see based on her performance with the Gamecocks from this coming her. It would not be surprising for her to be one of the players that the Sun would take.

The Chicago Sky are 8/1 to win and will have the fifth overall pick. This is a good position for a team that just made the WNBA Finals to be in. Tennessee’s Isabelle Harrison could prove to be an attractive target for a team that had dealt with plenty of injuries last year.

The 4/1 reigning champion Phoenix Mercury could especially go after Stanford’s Amber Orrange with the twelfth pick. This could provide the Mercury with a strong offensive weapon. This is especially important for the team as team star Diana Taurasi has jumped over to play ball overseas this season.

The potential for teams to change their fortunes will be alive in the 2015 WNBA Draft. The potential for the teams in the draft to get more could really be worth taking a look at based on what can come about over time.
